Why we built AlignHour

The meeting we missed

Most of our clients are in other countries. A while ago we were working toward a project worth around 2.3 million US dollars. A meeting was set with the client, and I misjudged the meeting time across our time zones.

The meeting was missed, and with it, the project.

It wasn't a lack of effort or skill. It was a few hours of time difference that I got wrong in my head. Daylight saving moves on different dates in different countries, "Tuesday 9 am" can be Monday evening for someone else, and one quick mental calculation is all it takes.

What we built

• Everyone sees their own time. You, your client and your team each see the meeting in their own local time, with the day spelled out.
• Find a time that fits. AlignHour shows the hours when everyone is at work, so you don't have to work it out yourself.
• Invites from your Google Calendar. Calendars do the time conversion for every guest, and you get a reminder before the meeting.

Why we keep it affordable

A tool like this shouldn't be a luxury. AlignHour has a free plan forever, and Pro costs $4 a month (billed yearly), with 50% off for our first 200 customers. We want every freelancer, consultant and small agency to have it, so no one else loses work over a clock.
